- corporations trying to profit off of queer people by showing their support for only one month of the year is bad
and
- it’s fun to watch conservatives get pissed that they can’t shop at target anymore because the big bad rainbows will corrupt their children :(
and
- the existence of rainbow capitalism in the first place proves that society is now in a place where supporting queer people is the more profitable and thus more popular opinion and that means something
are all viewpoints that can absolutely coexist
Adding onto that on a more macro scale:
- It’s bad that queer activism focuses largely on assimilationism and queerness being integrated more into normal society is to be seen with skepticism and caution because the acceptance is highly conditional and largely moves queer activism to the right.
and
- The massive amounts of acceptance for queeness that gave been gained in recent memory are incredibly important and life saving for huge amounts of people. More acceptance, even by a shitty society is directly leading to queeness being less dangerous.
can and do coexist and we should both remember our roots, our past and keep the sentiment that activism should change society for the better, rather than integrate us and understand that the damage of assimilationism and moving us closer to a conservative and puritan society doesn’t undo the good that comes from us being alive and having a far easier time living openly and honestly.

principles of cripple punk:
cripple punk is exclusively by the physically disabled for the physically disabled
cripple punk is about solidarity and is open to all physically disabled people.
cripple punk rejects pity, inspiration porn, and all other forms of ableism.
cripple punk rejects the “good cripple” mythos. cripple punk is here for the bitter cripple, the uninspirational cripple, the smoking cripple, the drinking cripple, the addict cripple, the cripple who hasn’t “tried everything”.
cripple punk fights internalized ableism and fully supports those struggling with it.
cripple punk respects intersections of race, culture, gender, sexual/romantic orientation, size, intersex status, mental illness/neurotype status, survivor status, etc.
cripple punk recognizes that there is no one universal disabled experience.
